Chrome was persistently locking up for me after a weekend away. That’s not good.
Opening a new Chrome app session would open the initial first tab but any subsquent action would lock up and the Chrome app (any all browser tabs) would freeze. Re-opening Chrome would not resolve this. This is on Windows 11 Pro with the latest Windows Updates and latest Chrome app installed.
Here’s the fix:
- Open the Chrome browser app
- In the URL bar enter
chrome://flagsto open the Chrome Experiments screen - Within the Search flags search box enter
quic - Set the Experimental QUIC protocol dropdown option to Disabled
- At the bottom of the screen click the Relaunch button to open a new Chrome app session
That’s it!
