How can I protect my Sony Ericsson P1i screen from scratches?

Transparent protective screen covers are available for purchase from a variety of online stores, alternatively just purchase an LCD cover suited for similar sized screens and cut it to size. An iPod Touch or iPhone screen protector would do the trick.
